The three will be setting together in the east (Mercury and the Moon in Ophiuchus, Saturn in Sagittarius). The 2.3 day-old Moon will have Saturn to its left and Mercury beneath it. Here are the separations...
Moon and Mercury, fewer than eight degrees the whole time
Moon and Saturn, fewer than two-and-three-quarters degrees the whole time
Mercury and Saturn, fewer than seven-and-one-quarter degrees the whole time
The Moon will be a waxing crescent, Mercury in a gibbous phase. Saturn is tilted in relation to Earth about as much as it can be, resulting in a very good access to the rings.

It is impossible to see this event without a clear western horizon. HRPO personnel will be at the Burbank Soccer Complex from 5pm to 6pm with equipment for anyone who wants to stop by and view. The equipment and personnel will be in the back of the Complex between the dog park and the lake.

The conjunction takes place today. Below is the NOAA forecast for HRPO's event time of 5pm to 6pm...
precipitation potential, 0%
sky cover, 27%
relative humidity, 44%
temperature, 14˚C
surface wind, E 3 km/h

Danko's Clear Dark Sky states that during HRPO's viewing time the transparency rating will be "too cloudy to forecast" (0 out of 5) and the seeing rating will be "average" (3 out of 5). Viewing will take place with unaided eyes, binoculars and telescopes. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own binoculars.

There is no sky rating for this event due to disparate data.

This event was completely muddled by a virtual overcast; none of the three components was seen. Furthermore, the dog park fence has been extended to include the area by the park. So sadly, HRPO personnel must reassess whether low-western viewing at Burbank is even still possible at this time.
