The Brushy Creek Crater is a formation northeast of Baton Rouge about 1.6 kilometers across. The impactor was probably thirty or thirty-one meters in diameter. Paul Heinrich and colleagues discovered the crater while studying a topographic map of St. Helena Parish.

Heinrich will give a talk on the Brushy Creek Crater on Friday 6 November, 7:30pm at the Highland Road Park Observatory. The talk is free admission and is aimed at a general adult audience.

The talk was very informative and fun. Mr. Heinrich had no problem staying to take question. He mention that one of the local drugstores up there is selling crater t-shirts!

(We're shutting down HRPO at 9:15pm tonight.)
