Apparently found near the border shared by Mali and Algeria, the main mass of this 1649-gram yellowish-green meteorite (determined to be of lunar origin) was found in June 2011 and purchased by a private collector in August of that year. Through an arrangement, 1000 tiny pieces of the NWA 6950 have each been incorporated into a lunar print for government and private purchase.
The Highland Road Park Observatory has acquired print number forty-nine and will premiere said print and the NWA 6950 chip this Saturday 13 May during Evening Sky Viewing Plus.
