An image from Dennis Roscoe of the Pelican Nebula is slide number twelve in the collaborative gallery from Time Magazine and the Astronomical League. I am unfamiliar with this object, but it lies 1800-2000 light-years away in Cygnus. It is 1˚54' ESE of Deneb, and is separated from the larger North America Nebula by a dark molecular cloud. The Starry Night Pro Plus gives a magnitude of 8.0, and Darling states it is thirty light-years across.

IC 5070 culminates between 1am and 2am these mornings. It actually lies a little outside the Summer Triangle. Larry Van Vleet obtained good detail from a portion of the Pelican.
