Friday's APOD was of NGC 5033, a spiral some 40 million light-years away in Canes Venatici. I was going to check to see if it had ever been viewing in the 20OGS at HRPO, but then I came across a statement at the NOAO's Advanced Observing Program--Although it is a faint galaxy (at least for a 0.5m telescope) it is surprisingly well studied. Well, the 20OGS is a half-meter.
