On Friday 17 November the Highland Road Park Observatory will host the first-ever "Natural Sky Conference". The form of this program is still taking shape but some elements have been formalized even at this early stage...
*Although open to the general public the Conference will be aimed at those individuals and organizations in town that have a direct ability to quelch the light pollution in the area.
*HRPO anticipates having the Conference at least through the end of twilight, so participants can see damage currently being caused by the light pollution in the area.
*The overall theme of the Conference will be having the exhibitors explaining what they will be actively doing within the next twelve months to lessen the light pollution in the area.

The Baton Rouge Audubon Society is the first local organization to make a commitment to exhibit at this year's NSC. We expect at least three or four others will be on site, although several more will be issuing public statements in support of the NSC's goals.
