To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club, the club will operate this weekend with the special event call sign N5B.

Club members will be on the air Saturday afternoon from 1pm until 6pm, participating in International Astronomy Day activities at the Highland Road Park Observatory in Baton Rouge. On Sunday, members plan to operate from our station aboard the U.S.S. Kidd (W5KID) from approximately 12pm until 5pm. They will be using single side band, CW (Morse) and digital, primarily on 15m, 20m and 40m. There will be a commemorative QSL card available.

Such a pity I wasn't able to be present at the celebration((
Hope I'll be able to visit the event next year.
And my late but sincere congrats to everyone.

Thank you very much. Remember, you don't have to be a member to visit a meeting, the date and time of which should be listed at...

Five more years! The eighty-year-old BRARC has a lot planned for 2017. Members will take part in the Highland Road Park Observatory's International Astronomy Day on Saturday 29 April. BRARC will hold its May meeting at the HRPO, and members will return a third time to HRPO for American Radio Relay League Field Day...

The BRARC will have a small eightieth anniversary celebration at HRPO on Sunday 23 April. The public is invited from 11am to 1pm on that day to learn about "ham" radio and to get a preview of what the Club will be doing during International Astronomy Day. There will be a commemorative HF station in operation at this time.
