Astronomy Night at Tanglewood Elementary School

Post by TES Teacher » January 30th, 2018, 10:15 am

Good Morning! I am a second grade teacher at Tanglewood Elementary School. We are in the process of planning our Astronomy Night for our first and second grade students. At Astronomy Night students learn about Nebula and make nebula art, learn about the phases of the moon, and visit our Star Lab. Our fourth station, is a night sky station where students are able to look through a telescope and view the night sky. At this time, we are searching for a few volunteers who would be willing to come to Tanglewood and set up their telescopes for the students to look through. I am also looking for date suggestions. We are trying to plan this event for late March/early April. Are there any exciting astronomical nights that will occur around this time?

Thank you in advance for supporting the academic learning of the students at Tanglewood Elementary School. If you are able to help or have a date suggestion, please email Lindsay Collins at or reply to this thread. THANKS!!

You need to check out our Outreach page at Asking here isn't the best way to get an answer.

Yes, Ben can help you at the email Fred provided. However, this is a good Forum to learn about upcoming celestial events, anniversaries and some meetings and sessions happening in the local area.
