The 1 January APOD was a beautiful image of a crescent Venus as seen from Quebec City.
Venus was in inferior conjunction on 11 January, stationary on 31 January and at greatest brilliancy on 15 February.

Re: Venus Viewing, 2014
Venus will be at greatest western elongation the morning of Saturday the 22nd. It will shine at magnitude -4.4 and the 20.4 day-old Moon will be over sixty degrees away. This will also be the first morning for Venus to be in Aquarius, having been in Capricornus for the previous fourteen days. On Saturday morning it will be ten degrees up at 5:38am and fifteen degrees up at 6:03am.
