Celestron Power Tank

Post by BriarAstro »

Hello all. I posted this in the Star party thread as well. This may be a better place for it.

"Looking forward to Hodges this year, and I'm in the market for a portable power supply to run my Meade LX200. Has anyone used Celestron's Power Tank? The product reviews are favorable at telescopes.com and optcorp, but a firsthand account from a BRAS member would seal the deal.

Ideas for alternatives would be great too.

Thanks,
Briar"

Briar, from whom did you finally acquire your Tank? I remember on the field seeing that you had one. How long were you able to run your equipment?

The Celestron Power Tank comes with cigarette lighter ports, a booster terminal, an LED spotlight (only to be used during emergencies, or if night vision doesn't matter), and a flashlight with red filter cap (to preserve night vision)...
