NGC 1929

Post by Christopher K. » January 20th, 2014, 3:32 pm

NGC 1929 is a star cluster in the N44 nebula, which in turn resides in the Large Magellanic Cloud in Dorado. I cannot recall coming across an NGC designation for a star cluster; I wonder how common that is.

A composite picture of NGC 1929 is the February image for Astronomy Magazine's 2014 Deep Space Mysteries calendar.
