Great World Wide Star Count 2014

Post by Christopher K. »

Word is out. This year's Great World Wide Star Count will run from Friday, 17 October to Friday, 31 October. If the exercise follows the procedure of previous years, those in the Northern Hemisphere will use the constellation Cygnus (at about an hour after sunset) to acquire a rough estimate of the numbers of stars "lost" due to light pollution. This is a excellent opportunity for science teachers.
