Precision Sundials LLC of Vermont has an instrument called the Renaissance Sundial. It consists of cylindrical focusing mirrors on a triangular support, producing a beam of light that keeps accurate time to within sixty seconds all throughout the day!
HRPO will showcase a Renaissance Sundial on Saturday 29 April from 3:15pm to 5:15pm during this year's International Astronomy Day.

Re: The Renaissance Sundial
BREC Program Aide Jacob Des Roches has finished polishing the Renaissance Sundial (currently on extended loan to HRPO) and it looks amazing!
The Highland Road Park Observatory will showcase the Renaissance Sundial on Saturday 15 May from 3:30pm to 7:30pm. Bring your old watch, bring your new watch, bring your digital watch, bring your atomic watch! You'll be stunned at how closely the Sundial is to the correct time.
