2021 General Lunar Viewing

New Moon will be tonight at 9:31pm CDT. At that time the planet Mars will be setting in the west in the constellation Taurus. Zenith will be very near the A-class magnitude 5.6 star 15 Leonis. Meanwhile, Hercules and Draco will be rising.

Full Moon will be tonight at 9:37pm CDT; it rises at 8:12pm and reaches fifteen degrees altitude in the southeast (in the constellation Capricornus) at 9:44pm.

The Moon will be about twenty degrees to the lower left of the famed Teapot of Sagittarius.

The Harvest Moon was Full at exactly 6:55pm CDT. The Full Moon will culminate in the south at 1:18am (fifty-five degrees up) and remain in darkness until 5:32am Tuesday.

The New Moon was this past Thursday at 4:15pm CDT.
The Moon's upcoming culmination times for Baton Rouge are...
Mon 8 November = 3:47pm, 33° in Sagittarius
Tue 9 November = 4:49pm, 34° in Sagittarius
Wed 10 November = 5:46pm, 37° in Capicornus

On Thursday (Veteran's Day) at 6:46pm the Moon will be First Quarter.
