Re: HRPO Evening Sky Viewing, 2023
HRPO is closed to the public tonight, as personnel had arranged a planned viewing of the Elongation of Venus at the Burbank Soccer Complex. Unfortunately, that event as well is canceled due to rain chance.

Re: HRPO Evening Sky Viewing, 2023
There will be no sky viewing tonight. Instead, HRPO is premiering a new display entitled "The Histories and Mysteries of Glass". This display is perpetual until further notice and will focus on the artistic and technological uses of objects that are mostly or completely made of glass. HRPO will be open for the premiere until 8:30pm.
The last regular Evening Sky Viewing session of June at HRPO will be tomorrow night from 7:30pm to 10pm.

Re: HRPO Evening Sky Viewing, 2023
NOAA has an Excessive Heat Warning in effect for the HRPO area until 7pm. There is no sky viewing scheduled tonight. Instead, a late spring placeholder program called "The Daylight Detour" runs from 6pm to 9pm. This self-serve program is simply to disseminate information regarding HRPO and its partners; the upcoming ARRL Field Day and ALCON Conference; and to discuss the October and April solar eclipses and 2029 visit of asteroid Apophis.

Re: HRPO Evening Sky Viewing, 2023
There is no Evening Sky Viewing planned tonight. Due to the NOAA Excessive Heat Warning lasting in the HRPO area until 8pm, the premiere of the Racing to the Stars display is postponed until August (as it has an outside component). Tomorrow night, there will be Evening Sky Viewing at its regular time of 7:30pm to 10pm though only with viewing pad telescopes, not the 20OGS.

Re: HRPO Evening Sky Viewing, 2023
Regular Evening Sky Viewing is preempted this evening by the summer Edge of Night session. This session focuses on twilight viewing. Evening Sky Viewing takes place tomorrow from 7:30pm to 10pm. Both the three Edge of Night sessions (March, July and November) and the standard sky viewing sessions are recommended for kids who are at least six years of age.
