The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Foresty's Burn Ban Map shows a current burn ban for East Baton Rouge Parish; therefore, there will be no marshmallow roast tonight. NOAA has an Excessive Heat Warning in effect for the HRPO area until 7pm CDT.

Below is the NOAA forecast for HRPO's planned Plus Night of 7pm to 10pm...
precipitation potential, 4%
sky cover, 15%
relative humidity, 56%
temperature, 34˚C

surface wind, SW 11 km/h

Danko's Clear Dark Sky states that during HRPO's viewing time the transparency rating will be "average" (3 out 5) and the seeing rating will be "good" (4 out of 5).

BREC Program Aide Judah Santiago was to be the 20OGS operator; however, the 20OGS is experience a battery issue. LSU personnel will be investigating this issue in the upcoming week, so the 20OGS will not be available tonight.

Sunset is at 7:41pm CDT. The heat index is in NOAA's "Danger" category until 8pm; therefore, there will be no outside activities (including viewing) until 8pm. NOAA also has an Air Quality Alert in effect for the HRPO area until 12am CDT.

HRPO will close at 9pm--this is due to the rain, shortness of personnel and gap between music performance and viewing.
